What Type of Harry Potter Gift Are You Looking For?
Harry Potter Action Figures & Play Sets
From trains to stuffed animals to dolls galore, these are the gifts you get for the Harry Potter lovers in your life who are still children – or at least children at heart. There are large and small gifts, but even the smallest of them can provide your loved ones with hours and hours of fun.
A Fun, Creative Way to Spend a Day
Fuse beads may not be as popular now as they once were, but they’re still just as fun. The problem is that most people don’t know what they are anymore.
If you’re wondering yourself, think back to when you were a kid. Remember those little plastic patterns that you’d drop hollow beads onto in any pattern or style you wanted before ironing them so they’d melt together into one solid shape? That is what fuse beads are, and they’re seriously awesome.
These are particularly awesome because they’re Harry Potter-themed patterns! There are lots of small pieces and applying heat is required, so this gift probably isn’t suitable for anyone under the age of 12.
For the Young, the Young at Heart or Any Model Train Enthusiast
This model train kit includes the battery-powered steam 4-6-0 locomotive and tender and two passenger coaches that make up the Hogwarts Express. There’s also a 32-piece track and a remote control.
The train makes authentic train sounds along with sound clips from the Harry Potter movies, and the headlight on the front actually works.
It’s very easy to put together (skill level – beginner) and is practically ready to go when it comes out of the box. Most children aged four and up could operate it without any trouble.
A Cuddly Hand Puppet for Ages 3 Years and Up
There are very few people out there who love Harry Potter that don’t also love Hedwig. She’s beautiful, loyal and the perfect pet. You may not be able to buy the real thing for your loved one, but with this plush hand puppet, you can buy him the next best thing. The head moves and makes realistic owl sounds when he uses the inner hand grip, and she’s also soft and snuggly enough to cuddle with at night.
To Play With or Simply to Collect
This Harry Potter doll is pretty amazing and incredibly detailed, right down to the scar on his forehead and the markings on his arm guards. Harry comes complete with his Nimbus 2000 and the golden snitch he caught in his first quidditch match.
Harry has 11 joints that allow for realistic movement, and his quidditch uniform is straight off the screen. This is a great item for a child ages six and up who loves Harry Potter and wants to actually play. It’s also a nice addition to any collector’s collection.
There’s also a quidditch Draco Malfoy doll if you’re buying for a Slytherin fan.
Another Beautifully Rendered, Realistic Doll from Mattel
Mattel has put out quite a few Harry Potter dolls, and each of them is just as detailed and realistic as the next, but Dumbledore is particularly well done. His outfit is a signature Dumbledore look, and the detail in his eyes, eyebrows and beard is astounding.
Like the Harry doll, he, too, has movable joints for realistic play, and he comes with the Elder Wand and his signature half-moon spectacles. He’s great for playing with or collecting.
To Keep Idle Hands Busy and Bored Minds Entertained
Although fidget spinners aren’t the “it” toy they were a couple of years ago, they’re still really popular, and this replica of the golden snitch is one of the better ones you’ll see. It isn’t actually golden in color; it’s more of an iridescent, rainbow color, but that somehow makes it even more beautiful while it’s spinning.
It’s made of a durable metal alloy and looks like sparkling galaxies while it’s in motion. Although it isn’t the most expensive gift on the list, it’s definitely one of the best Harry Potter toys available for the easily distracted or those prone to boredom. It would make an excellent stocking stuffer for children over the age of five.
A Neat Toy with a Really Loud Squeal
This is a plush replica of the baby mandrakes from Professor Sprout’s herbology class from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It comes with the adorable plush mandrake and a plastic, orange gardening pot.
While the mandrake is in the pot, it just looks like a plush plant, but when your little one grasps it and pulls it out, she’ll see the baby mandrake, and more than that, she’ll hear the baby mandrake. It squeals just like in the movie and starts shaking all over. It won’t stop until she returns it to its pot. It’s actually a lot of fun.
Harry Potter Wearables & Home Accessories
These gifts are great for the Harry Potter fan who likes to showcase her love of the fandom by dressing up herself or dressing up her home. These are eye-catching gifts that are sure to spark conversations with anyone who sees them.
For Showcasing Hogwarts House Pride
Every Harry Potter lover has his or her own favorite house. These super long, ultra soft scarves will allow your friend to show off hers in style without being too flashy about it.
There are options available for every house, and if you’re not sure which house is your friend’s favorite, you can buy her the neutral scarf that features the Hogwarts crest instead of a particular house.
The best part is that they’re officially licensed and are near-perfect replicas of the ones the characters wear in the movies.
STOCK ISSUES – I’ve noticed that Cinereplicas has a bit of a problem keeping items in stock – so if the house you want is not available you could also check out the Bioworld version of the House Scarf. It is not as authentic looking as the Cinereplica, but it does come with a beanie for around the same price.
For Warmth On Those Cold Winter Nights
Of all the amazing magical items in Harry Potter, the Marauder’s Map is probably one of the neatest, and this warm, soft throw blanket made of 100% polyester is a perfect, oversized replica of the original map when it’s closed. It’s warm; its muted colors make it fashionable in any room, and it’s machine-washable.
Harry Potter Marauder’s Map Pillow Cover at Pottery Barn
When One Marauder’s Map Just Isn’t Enough
This Marauder’s Map pillowcase is the perfect add-on gift to the Marauder’s Map throw blanket, and in many ways, it’s even cooler than the blanket. In normal light, the pillow features the map’s infamous phrase, “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
If your friend flips on a black light, though, the map of Hogwarts suddenly appears in witchy, glowing print. It’s a lot like magic…
Can Be Worn Or Displayed
This officially licensed Warner Brothers product is a perfect replica of Xenophilius Lovegood’s Deathly Hallows necklace. It comes on a 22-inch chain, and the Deathly Hallows pendant is a little less than two inches tall and two inches wide.
It even features Lovegood’s red jewel above the pendant. The necklace comes in a really unique and attractive collector’s box, so if your loved one doesn’t want to wear it, she can leave it in the box for attractive display.
Harry Potter Velvet Train Case at Pottery Barn
They’ll Be Ready to Visit Platform 9¾
This gorgeous, house-themed train case is luxurious and well-made, and if the Harry Potter lover in your life also loves vintage gifts, she’ll love it even more. While it isn’t technically vintage, it definitely looks like it is.
It features a thick polyester/satin lining that’s extremely durable and will help keep toiletry spills from leaking outside the case, and its dimensions are 9.5″ wide x 6.25″ deep x 6.25″ high, so it’ll hold just about all of her bathroom or makeup necessities.
Cutest Sheet Set for Harry Potter-Loving Children
This is a great gift for smaller children who love Harry Potter. Made of 100% polyester, these sheets are soft, machine-washable and warm.
They fit any standard full-size bed and feature cartoon-like versions of all our favorite Hogwarts characters, as well as a cartoon-like, miniature version of the castle itself. The set also comes with two matching pillowcases to help complete the look.
Harry Potter Collectibles & Replica Toys
Here are even more great Harry Potter toys, but these are meant less for playing with and more for collecting. Whether your loved one is a serious collector of Harry Potter merchandise or just a casual lover of the books or films, he’s still likely to appreciate any of these collectibles. Plus, they make great conversation starters.
Mostly for Collectors
If you aren’t a collector yourself, it’s possible you haven’t heard of Funko Pops, but if you’ve stepped into a bookstore, video game store, movie store, toy store or even into the electronics section of your local Walmart or Target, it’s unlikely that you haven’t seen them. These things are everywhere, and they have a huge group of collectors on par with Beanie Babies collectors in the 90’s or baseball card collectors before that.
Some people do buy these for children, but since they aren’t posable or movable, they’re not really meant for playing.
Unless they’re oversized or minis, most Funko pops (generally just called ‘pops’) stand a little under four inches tall and represent popular figures from movies, television shows and other types of media and pop culture.
This set includes the three main characters – Harry, Ron and Hermione – all wearing their school robes and holding their wands.
You can also get a variation of the Harry figure, this time in his quidditch uniform, holding his broom and the snitch.
More Funko Fun for the Funko Fan
In addition to individual pops, Funko also has a line called “Funko Pop! Moments.” These represent scenes from movies. This particular pop moment shows the battle between Harry and Voldemort in the graveyard from The Goblet of Fire.
They’re dressed exactly as they were in this scene, right down to Voldemort’s bare feet, and their wands’ powers are meeting in the middle to form a large disturbance. It’s a great scene, and this pop moment rendered it beautifully.
Great For a Collection or to Wear For Cosplay
This replica of the Sorting Hat that all first-year Hogwarts students must put on is pretty perfect. The attention to detail is obvious in every fold and stitch in the hat, and the hat’s “face” is just as grumpy and unique as the one in the movie.
It’s a plush hat, but it can actually be worn, and just like the Sorting Hat in Harry Potter, this one also talks. Turn it on, and set it on someone’s head, and it will loudly proclaim that person’s Hogwarts house. It’s a really cool collectible.
For the Friend Who Solemnly Swears He’s Up To No Good
This map is officially licensed by Warner Brothers as a legitimate Harry Potter replica. It’s an incredibly detailed, true-to-size replica of the Marauder’s Map printed on vintage parchment paper to make it look even more authentic.
When open, its dimensions are 15.5″ high x 72″ wide. When closed, it’s 15.5″ high x 8.25″ wide. While this map doesn’t actually show people moving around the castle, it does look amazingly realistic, and it’s the perfect addition to any serious Harry Potter collection.
The Closest Thing You Can Get to Real-life Magic
This is one of the coolest gifts you can give a Harry Potter fan because it actually works! Yes, you read that correctly. This invisibility cloak will actually make your friend disappear… at least on camera. It uses the same sophisticated green screen technology Hollywood employs for its special effects.
While sitting in front of the screen, your friend simply has to wrap the cloak around himself, and he’ll disappear from the camera, cloak and all, or he could wrap it around himself from the neck down and appear as a floating head on the screen. It’s amazingly cool and creepy, and there’s no one out there that won’t love it.
For Role Play, Cosplay or Just Plain Fun
No child can pretend to be a Harry Potter character without a wand, and no collector can call his collection complete without one either. Pictured below are replicas of 3 famous wands from the Harry Potter films. Made by the Noble Collection, they look exactly like the wands used in the movies. They are perfect 1:1 scale reproductions officially licensed by Warner Brothers.
They all come in gorgeous boxes which are replicas of the ones used in the movies by Ollivander’s Wand Shop. The boxes are lined with purple felt, and the wand comes covered in a translucent purple ribbon.
These can be bought as toys for children or replicas for collectors. The recommended age is 14+ but I know my 8 year old would absolutely love one! These really are the perfect gift for both young and old Harry Potter fans.
NOTE: If you’re shopping for younger kids you may want to consider purchasing a lighted wand. They are very similar to the ones listed below except when you swish them the tip lights up. These are still a part of the Noble Collection so they look great, they are just not quite as realistic as the non-lighted wands shown below.
First up is Harry Potter’s wand. This is the most popular of the bunch with over 3800 mostly positive reviews on Amazon. The wand is 15 inches long and in my opinion is the most magical looking of the bunch.
If your child identifies more with Hermione Granger, then you may want to consider this beautiful replica of her trusty wand. It is made from the same high quality materials as Harry’s wand and gets just as stellar reviews from happy customers over at Amazon.
You can also get the the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in the world! It looks absolutely authentic from base to tip. This is the wand that Harry Potter took from Voldemort in The Deathly Hallows.
ADDITIONAL WANDS: The Noble Collection also includes wands from other famous witches and wizards from the Harry Potter films and Fantastic Beasts franchise – you can see more wands HERE.
A Collectible That’s Not for Eating
This is another great replica from the Noble Collection, and while it looks good enough to eat, it’s important you let your friend know he really shouldn’t do that. The frog is made of silicone, and the frog, the package and the collectible trading card are near-perfect replicas of the chocolate frog seen in the first Harry Potter film when Ron and Harry are talking on the train to Hogwarts.
It’s an officially licensed product, and the frog can be stretched, squashed or simply enjoyed as a nice addition to your friend’s desk or bookshelf.
Help your friend light up even the darkest of nights with this golden snitch LED nightlight. It’s an eco-friendly gift that’s easily recharged via USB port, and for a small lamp, it throws out a lot of light. It’s designed to look like the golden snitch floating effortlessly inside an illuminated jar, and it’s pretty magical to behold.
Authentic Replicas for the True Quidditch Fan
This really is a one-of-a-kind gift that’ll blow the mind of any Harry Potter collector. Although this complete quidditch set isn’t quite as large as the real thing, it still looks amazingly authentic, and It gets amazing reviews over on Amazon.com.
The trunk is designed to look just like the old, beaten up trunk Oliver Wood plops down in front of Harry at his first practice. Inside are the two bludgers, a quaffle and the golden snitch – although the snitch can’t be removed, it is just for decoration. It also comes with a beautiful, full-color poster as a little added bonus.
The box is made from hard cardboard and comes with a lock and key. The top part of the box lifts off revealing a secret storage compartment making it a great place for kids to hide their treasured items or other Harry Potter paraphernalia.
Before you buy, just be aware that this set really is not designed for any sort of play, it is more of a display item so it may not be suitable for very young kids.
There is no recommended age listed, but I would think that any kid 6 years and up would go nuts for this Quidditch Set. If I had any space left on my display shelf I would probably pick one up for myself!
Harry Potter LEGO Sets
Whether adult or child, if you have a builder in your family who also loves Harry Potter, you can’t go wrong with Harry Potter LEGO sets. Period. I have listed 3 of my favorite sets below – but If you want a more comprehensive list be sure to check out my article on the 15 Best LEGO Harry Potter building sets.
The Three-tiered Purple Bus Complete with a Shrunken Head
The Knight Bus scene is one of the strangest and most random scenes in all the Harry Potter films, but it’s also one of the most fun. There’s just something about the too tall, too narrow purple bus that puts a smile on anyone’s face.
This LEGO set contains everything your loved one will need to build his own Knight Bus, complete with three LEGO miniatures, the shrunken head in the window and Hedwig’s cage. It’s appropriate for children ages seven and up.
The Ultimate in Harry Potter LEGO Kits
If you’re looking for the Harry Potter LEGO kit to beat all other Harry Potter LEGO kits, this is it. This detailed, complex set contains 6,020 LEGO pieces and isn’t really meant for children under the age of 16. It’s simply too complex to be easily put together by young children.
It received the “Toy of the Year” award in 2019, and it comes with everything your friend could possibly imagine or want in a Hogwarts castle.
Along with the bricks used for building the castle, the set also includes LEGO mini figures of the original heads of houses standing with their crests, the basilisk, a dragon on the tower, the whomping willow, Aragog, the Chamber of Secrets, dementors and so much more. This is truly the best and biggest LEGO Harry Potter set there is.
From The Prisoner of Azkaban
If you’re looking for a LEGO set that’s a little more accessible to younger children, Hagrid’s Hut is a good option. It’s suitable for children aged eight and older and comes with everything a child would need to recreate the rescue of Buckbeak from the third film. Miniature figures include Hagrid, Harry, Ron, Hermione, the Minister of Magic, the executioner and Buckbeak. The 496 pieces are enough to build Hagrid’s hut and the small pumpkin patch outside.
Harry Potter Games
Is the Harry Potter fan in your life also a huge fan of playing games? If so, there are a few options out there that would suit her perfectly. These are physical games you guys can enjoy playing together after gifting them to her. Video games aren’t included.
The Classic UNO Card Game, only with Potter-Themed Cards
This is the classic game of UNO that most people know and love. There are no changes to the game play. The only difference is that these cards feature all your loved one’s favorite Harry Potter characters on them. This is a great after-dinner game to play with the family, and the more competitive you all are, the more fun you’ll have.
For Trivia Enthusiasts & Hardcore Potter Fans
This is the quick-play version of the full Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit game. It can accommodate as many players ages eight and up that want to play, and the game can usually be completed in a little over half an hour.
There are 600 Harry Potter-themed questions, and because it’s such a small, conveniently boxed game – no board, no extravagant game pieces, etc. – it’s perfect for road trips or taking on vacation. The first person to get 12 answers right is the winner!
Functional Replica of the Wizard’s Chess Game from Sorcerer’s Stone
Although the pieces don’t actually come to life like they do in the book and the film, this Wizard’s Chess set is still quite magical. This officially licensed game is beautiful to look at and incredibly detailed. It comes with the game board, 16 white pieces, 16 black pieces and two bags in which to store the pieces when the game isn’t in use, although it’s so gorgeous, your friend may just want to display it year round, even when it isn’t in use.
A Fun Game with More Funko Collectibles
Funko doesn’t just make collectible items anymore; they’ve recently moved into the board game market as well. This game is for adults and children over the age of ten. Between two and four players can play at once, and a total game usually lasts between 20 minutes and an hour.
The game features four collectible pop figures – Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, Harry and Hermione. The game also includes two playable boards – or “maps” – in the form of Diagon Alley and the Room of Requirement.
The game is basically a strategy game, but it isn’t as hard as some of the more intense strategy games, and most children can pick it up fairly easily. If the person you’re buying this game for has other Funkoverse strategy games already, he can combine them with this one to create new and exciting ways of playing.
The Classic Mystery Game with a Magical Twist
Just about everyone has played Clue, and most people find it quite enjoyable. If you have a Harry Potter fan in your life, help make sure he loves it even more by buying him this Harry Potter-themed version.
In this game, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna and Ginny (the playable characters) must find a missing Hogwarts student. They must also determine who made the student disappear and exactly which spell that person used to make it happen!
When one person thinks he’s solved the mystery, he has to make his way safely to Dumbledore’s office and present the evidence to the headmaster.
There are tons of pitfalls along the way including the ever-changing Hogwarts staircases, magically hidden passages and the appearance of the dark mark. It’s a wonderful night of magical fun for three or more people ages nine and up.
Fun for the Whole Family
This is a great Harry Potter-themed game for family night. It’s meant for two to four players, ages seven and up, and it’s really just a Harry Potter version of the popular Labyrinth game that’s been around for years. It’s one of those games that’s really easy to pick up even if you’ve never played it, and it’s sure to be a hit with everyone who’s playing.
Build it then display It!
Puzzles make great gifts because they provide hours of solo or group entertainment. They also keep people’s minds active and help improve critical thinking, spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
There’s a company called Wrebbit that makes great themed 3-D puzzles, and they’ve made a number of different Harry Potter puzzles that are perfect for the more mature (teens and up) Harry Potter lovers in your life.
Each one is made of thick polyethylene foam that’s easy to work with and helps the pieces fit together snugly and securely. This allows the finished product to remain sturdy and structurally sound.
They look more like models than puzzles. The 3D buildings will stand easily and look great on display. Here are my favorites:
This 415-piece puzzle allows your friend to beautifully recreate the warm, happy home of Arthur and Molly Weasley in striking detail.
The ground level of the home is done in the endearing mishmash of various woods and stone just like the burrow in the films, and the top-heavy second floor is held up by little more than posts, magic and a prayer.
The finished product wholly exemplifies all the love and happiness that live within those walls.
If you’re looking for something larger that takes a little more effort to put together, consider the 875-piece astronomy tower at Hogwarts.
Because the majority of the puzzle is done in either the red brick of the walls or the blue tiles on the roofs, this puzzle is definitely challenging, and it’s not a great one to try to start with for someone who’s never worked 3D puzzles.
If you have an experienced builder, though, this is a great gift.
If you want to buy a 3D puzzle for someone who’s never tried to build one before, this is a good one to try.
It only has 300 pieces, and the puzzle includes lots of different, bright colors, which makes it relatively easy to find where things are supposed to go.
Although this puzzle, too, is marketed to teens aged 14 or older, this is one you might be able to buy for a younger Harry Potter fan.
Few Pieces, but Tough Nonetheless
The Knight Bus is another great mode of transportation in the Harry Potter world, and the filmmakers got it just right when they turned it from a literary concept into a visual scene.
Although this puzzle only has 280 pieces, it’s still not a great one to start a puzzle newbie out with because it’s almost entirely purple! There are windows, tires, headlights and other things to break up the purple monotony, but it’s still not likely to be an easy task.
With only 450 pieces included, this puzzle definitely isn’t the largest Harry Potter puzzle in terms of pieces, but it is one of the largest when considering the size of the finished product.
It measures 21.75″ x 7.75″ x 8.5″ and is one of the most beautiful and detailed Harry Potter Wrebbit puzzles there is. It’s a gorgeous replica of Diagon Alley and features many of the street’s most famous stores, including the Weasley’s joke store and its hat-tipping sign.
It’s great for builders looking for a challenge and isn’t recommended for beginners.
Available on Various Gaming Platforms
There are a ton of Harry Potter Themed video games available for just about every console in existence, but the real stand out for me was the LEGO Harry Potter Collection. This multi-platform action-adventure game combines two great franchises… Harry Potter and LEGO!
This collection remastered and combined 2 of the most popular Harry Potter games of all times:
- LEGO Harry Potter: years 1 – 4 – This game covers the first 4 books in the series, from The Sorcerer’s Stone up to and including The Goblet of Fire.
- LEGO Harry Potter: years 5 – 7 – This game picks up where the first game left off and has adventures from The Order of the Phoenix up to The Deathly Hallows exciting conclusion.
As with all LEGO video games, LEGO Harry Potter focuses on collecting, exploring, and puzzle-solving. It features digital LEGO figures that are based on the novel’s characters and both games are super detailed and well thought out.
If your kids are fans of both LEGO and Harry Potter this is sure to be a huge hit!
A Note On Gaming Consoles
In my opinion the Nintendo Switch is the best gaming system for kids at the moment. It is super interactive and has dozens of Kid-Friendly titles available. If you don’t already own a game console, and are thinking about buying one – the Nintendo Switch gets my highest recommendation.
Harry Potter Food & Kitchen Items
From Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans to the chocolate frogs, the Harry Potter books and films had some delicious looking snacks, not to mention the mouth-watering food often shown during feasts in the Great Hall.
Sadly, in the real world, there are no magical feasts prepared by house elves and presented ready for us to eat, but there are some Harry Potter snacks and kitchen items to bring a little magic into your loved one’s home nonetheless.
Great for Baking Cookies for Harry Potter Movie Night
These cookie cutters have sharp edges, are made from non-toxic, food-safe materials and are easy to clean. There are four of them, one for each of the Hogwarts houses, and they feature the name and crest of each house. Whether your loved one is a Gryffindor girl, a sly Slytherin or something else entirely, she’ll enjoy this set. Plus, she’ll make some great cookies for Potter Movie Night.
Harry Potter Cookie Cutter Set
More Great Cookie Cutters for Baking Delicious Cookies
This set from Williams-Sonoma comes with quite a bit more than just a few cookie cutters; it’s an entire baking kit. It includes eight stainless steel cookie cutters, 12 icing bags, four decorating tips, a plastic coupler and a storage box for all the pieces.
The cookie cutters are shaped like Hedwig, Harry’s glasses, the snitch, the Hogwarts Express, the sorting hat, Harry’s scar, a broomstick and the symbol of the Deathly Hallows.
For the Friend Who Wants to Cook up Her Own Magical Feast
Help your friend whip up a little magic of her own with this Unofficial Harry Potter cookbook. This book has all the most delicious treats featured in the books and the movies. There are recipes for pumpkin pasties, lemon drops, treacle tart, butterbeer, French onion soup and more.
If your friend saw it in the movies or read about it in the books and thought, “Wow. That sounds delicious,” then it’s probably in this cookbook. You may even get lucky, and she’ll use it to cook for you!
He’ll Never Know What He’s Going to Get
Everything is more magical in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and that includes the jelly beans! These jelly beans – Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans – contain delicious flavors like roasted marshmallows, watermelon, chocolate and more, but there are also flavors like dirt, boogers, vomit and soap as well.
If you have a loved one who likes to take a little bit of a risk, buy him this five-pack of Bertie Bott’s. He’ll love it for the nostalgia factor alone.
William Sonoma Bertie Bott’s Beans
Same Great Beans, Different Packaging
Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans were a hugely popular part of the Harry Potter franchise, and candy companies all over the nation wanted in on the action. This pack of Bertie Bott’s is put out by Williams-Sonoma rather than Jelly Belly, but the “every flavor” part of them is still the same. It’s a bit of a risk, but it’s a fun one, which is why these attractive little bottles make such great stocking stuffers.
Harry Potter Hedwig Cookie Jar
For Storing all Her Favorite Magical Snacks
Whether your friend likes pumpkin pasties, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, lemon drops or something more mundane and muggle-like, this gorgeous earthenware cookie jar sculpted to look just like Hedwig will make sure her treats stay fresh and safe from thieving hands.
The cookie jar is finished in a clear glaze for a brilliant shine, and the eyes, talons and nose are all hand-painted. If you know a Harry Potter fan with a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong with this gift.
DIY Chocolate Frogs & Wizard Wands
While you may not be able to buy your friend the real thing when it comes to the magical chocolate frogs featured so prominently in Harry Potter, you can buy her the next best thing – molds for making her very own chocolate frogs.
The set comes with three molds, and each mold can make eight chocolate frogs for a total of two dozen frogs if she makes them all. The molds are reusable and easy to clean.
The kit also comes with 15, nine-inch dowel rods. These can be used for making DIY wands. The rods are smooth and splinter-free, so you don’t have to worry about your friend or her kids getting hurt while using them.
They can be decorated with some hot glue (to add swirls and other designs) and then painted over with a solid color. Together with the frog molds, this makes a great kit for a Harry Potter-themed family fun day.
Harry Potter Books & Movies
You can never go wrong with taking it back to the source material. Even if your friend has read the books a dozen times, she’ll still have room in her library for the newest, most beautiful box set edition of them. There’s also a lot of other great Harry Potter-themed media products you can buy.
Binge Watching on Command
This box-set collection includes all eight of the Harry Potter movies on DVD in one convenient, attractive package. Your loved one is obviously already a Harry Potter fan, but now she’ll have the opportunity to watch and rewatch the films as often as she likes. All told, the collection will give her nearly 20 solid hours of Potter goodness.
All His Favorite Books in One Convenient Box
Much like the box-set DVD collection above, this box-set collection will give your friend the chance to read and re-read his favorite books as often as he likes. The sets feature all seven books in the series which come in a gorgeous box made to look like Harry Potter’s trunk that he lugs back and forth with him to Hogwarts each year.
It’s a gorgeous collection for any hardcore fan.
If you don’t want to shell out the money for the hardbound collections you can always opt for the softbound set. It comes complete with all 7 books like the set above – the only difference is the packaging.
A New Way to Experience a Favorite Story
This beautiful book contains 96 pages of everything related to Harry Potter. There’s the Quibbler, the Quidditch World Cup, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest and more. If you’ve seen it or read about it in Harry Potter, it very likely could be in here.
The pages are thick, but there are pictures on both sides of the page, so coloring with markers isn’t recommended.
Same Amazing Story, Only with Pictures
These books are a great gift for parents with young children. The set features books one through three of the Harry Potter series, but unlike the original books, these are fully illustrated.
They aren’t quite picture books, but there are enough pictures in them to keep the attention of young children, which means they’re a great way for parents to get their kids interested in the world of Harry Potter at a young age.
The illustrations are done in full color, and each book comes with an attached ribbon bookmark to help your friends easily hold their places. All three books come in a slipcase with a gorgeous depiction of Diagon Alley and raised, foil lettering.
A Complete Reference Guide to Every Spell in the Wizarding World
If your friend is the type who was just dying to go into the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts’ library the moment she heard about it, this is the gift for her.
It’s really more of a collector’s item than an actual book, although it is a book that can be read and enjoyed.
It contains every single spell ever mentioned in Harry Potter – the books, the movies, the video games and more. The cover is embossed and silky to the touch, and the pages are sturdy and thick. All-in-all, there are nearly 250 spells for your friend to pore over and try out for herself.
Learn to Draw 40+ of Your Favorite HP Characters
If the Harry Potter fan in your life is also interested in art, comics or illustrations, grab him this guide to drawing the Harry Potter characters. There are cartoon-like renditions of over 40 of the best and most beloved Harry Potter characters in this book and step-by-step instructions on how to draw them all. It contains over 130 pages, and the instructions are simple enough that even children can successfully use this book to help them learn to draw.
Harry Potter Gifts Specifically for Adults
Not all Potterheads are children. The books and movies were popular in the early 2000’s when many of today’s adults were still teens. They grew up loving Harry Potter, and that love never quite left them. There are many people out there who haven’t been kids for a long time who would still really love a unique Harry Potter gift this holiday season.
For the Avid Journaler
Everything about this journal is stunning. The moleskine cover is dyed a Bordeaux red and features a unique image that combines Hogwarts and the Marauder’s Map.
The journal’s pages are thick, ivory-colored pages perfect for writing longhand and not susceptible to ink bleed-through due to the slight texturing that’s on them.
The inside front and back covers of the journal feature more breathtaking Harry Potter imagery, and there’s even a free gift for your friend inside – a cardboard pair of Luna Lovegood’s funky glasses for her to color and wear or to use as a bookmark.
Too Attractive to Win Any Ugly Sweater Contests
The hoodie actually looks like a real college sweatshirt. Someone would have to look twice to see that it’s not a sweatshirt for a real school. It’s a super soft, unisex, drawstring hoodie, and it’s bound to be a hit with any adult Potter fan.
There is also a very similar sweatshirt over at Etsy.com that features a crossed broom emblem and in my opinion looks even more like an authentic college sweatshirt.
For the Coffee Drinker with a Sense of Whimsy
Whether your loved one is a coffee drinker or a hot tea drinker, being able to drink that favorite morning drink in a nice, attractive mug somehow seems to start the day off better.
This mug is every muggle-who-wants-to-be-a-wizard’s dream. When the mug is empty or full of something cold, it’s nearly solid black, but the words “Mischief Managed” can just barely be seen if you turn your head at just the right angle.
When he pours something hot into it, though, your loved one will get a nice surprise. The black fades away into the Marauder’s Map, with that well-known phrase, “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good” written across it.
It’s not magic, but it seems like it could be, and therein lies the fun. There are also other Harry Potter-themed mugs that go from black to looking like the covers of the original books as well.
For the Adult Fans of the Franchise
These robes are unisex, one-size-fits-all robes featuring the Hogwarts’ house crests on the breast and the house colors on the robes’ trim and belts. There’s red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, yellow for Hufflepuff and blue for Ravenclaw. The robes are officially licensed as Harry Potter merchandise, so you know they’re authentic.
They’re also warm, comfortable and machine-washable. Best of all, each robe comes with a hood, which makes it both extra warm and super cool in appearance. They’re great for putting on after the shower or for just lounging around the house all day.
